(Reviewers' comments reflect similar experiences with them. So be forewarned, my friends, beware of that outfit. So I contacted Amazon about returning it, and they are taking it from there. Don't want to damage my battery or run a safety risk of some sort. One doesn't know if the darn thing turns green when battery is charged, or if it goes out, or if it just stays on ad infinitum. Absolutely no instruction page(s) included. Sure enough, one of my EN EL5 batteries does indeed fit into in, and then the LED glows red. On the front it simply said "Fits NIK EN EL5." There is a small LED in the upper left corner that is labelled "Charge." When I plug it in, this glows faint green. It was NOT the Nikon MH 61.It was some unnamed generic charger that was labelled "Video/Digital Travel Charger" on the back. It arrived today from some outfit called Openseas Electronics in Florida. The grief continues! I ordered from Amazon what was advertised and shown as the genuine Nikon MH 61 charger. (Btw, my P510 is a jewell! I love it.) -) Just thought that I'd share and see if anyone else has had similar problems? I just hope that I will have 2 good units on hand for me now. Each order was for about $18 plus shipping, so I'm not out much. Most places, including Nikon, list it as out of stock with delivery uncertain! I finally ordered from Amazon, and to be on the safe side I ordered still another one from some other outfit that claims to have it in stock and available. So I'm trying to find a genuine Nikon MH61 charger designated for this system on line. The Nikon in-camera charger seems to work fine. Certainly they can't both be out of order. Now I'm once again running into the same problem with my second battery. The darned charger balks about halfway thru the charging period, and I have to start over. Since then, trying to recharge depleted batteries is troublesome. I bought an extra battery and charged it up with this unit, and everything was fine. Indeed, the manual did list the EN-EL5 battery as one it would handle. Best Buy didn't have the Nikon MH61 charger designated for this battery, so they sold me a DigiPower Travel Charger claimed to be ok for this system. I'm somewhat upset about chargers for the EN-EL5 battery for P510.
